This guide is being illustrated with a Creality CR-10S Pro, but with the necessary adjustments, it applies to all other models the DDX is compatible with:

Cut zip-tie
-
Remove cable clip
-
Remove the other cable clip
-
-
-
Peel the cable sleeve upwards.

Hold it with a cable clip.
-
-
-
Unscrew each screw holding the fan in place
-
-
-
Unscrew the button head screw from the fan mount.
-
-
-
Carefully pull the cables from the sleeve.
-
Give the cables enough slack to extract the heater and thermistor from the heat block.
-
-
-
Remove the silicone cap from the heat block.
-
-
-
Unscrew the bottom screw to release the heater.
-
Unscrew the side screw to release the thermistor
-
-
-
Gently pull the heater and thermistor from the Heat Block.
-
Heat the nozzle up to 140C.
-
Gently take the thermistor out.
-
Unplug the power and let the nozzle cool down before proceeding.
-

-
Unscrew the bottom and top levelling probe set screws to release the probe.
-
-
-
Unscrew both mounting screws from the carriage.
-
Leave the DDX in place for the time being.
-
-
-
Press the push-fit.
-
Pull the PTFE tube from the push-fit.
-
-
-
Disconnect the Stepper Motor extension.
-
-
-
Hold the DDX and pull it away from the carriage.
-
-
-
Unscrew both holding screws from the back.
-
Just enough to allow them about 2mm apart.
-
-
-
Hold the hotend.
-
Pull it away from inside the DDX.
-
-
-
Use 2x 2.5x6mm screws supplied with the Copperhead™ hotend.
-
Insert them in the mounting holes.
-
-
-
Attach Adapter and hotend.
-
Notice the orientation of the Adapter and Hot Block.
-
These indented marks should be oriented towards the front of the DDX.
-
The fixation screws that attach the DDX to the carriage plate will enter through them.
-
-
-
Insert the Capricorn tube inside the Adapter and hotend.
-
Push hard until it hits the bottom.
-
-
-
Insert the Capricorn tube in the cutting fixture
-
Drive it until it fits the Adapter
-
Pressing all together use the hobby knife to cut the tube straight.
-
At the end, the Capricorn should stand out 5mm.
-

-
Spread the housing apart from 2 to 3mm
-
Insert the Copperhead™ in at an angle.
-
Push it until the mounting holes align.
-
-
-
If when clamping the DDX the gears collide:
-
Release the thumbscrew.
-
Open the hinge.
-
Clamp both halves while rotating the main gear back and forth.
-
-
-
When the DDX closes down verify the mounting holes alignment.
-
Screw the back screws to close it.
-
-
-
Connect the stepper motor extension cable back.
-
Guide the cable through the groove.
-
Place the DDX back on the mounting studs.
-
-
-
Use the 2 M3x20mm screws with washer.
-
Screw the DDX into the carriage.
-
Do not screw it all the way.
-
Adjustments will need to be made.
-
-
-
Insert the levelling probe back into the mount.
-
Level it so it's slightly above the nozzle's tip.
-
Tighten the set screws.
-
-
-
1x 11035 Thermistor Adapter Cartridge
-
1x 1g Thermal paste
-
-
-
Drag the paste inside to one end of the bag.
-
Cut the other end of the bag with the scissors.
-
Push material to the cut edge.
-
-
-
Dip the thermistor inside the bag.
-
Coat it with a thick layer of thermal paste.
-
-
-
Insert the coated thermistor into the cartridge.
-
Slowly rotate the cartridge back and forth while inserting the thermistor.
-
Push it in until it hits the limit inside the cartridge.
-
-
-
Use the paste bag as brush.
-
Spread thermal paste on the outside of the cartridge.
-
-
-
Unscrew the holding screw.
-
Insert the cartridge in the 3mm hole.
-
Push it all the way until it flushes on the other end.
-
-
-
Coat the external surface of the heater cartridge with thermal paste.
-
Insert it in the 6mm hole.
-
Push it all the way in until it flushes on the other end.
-
-
-
Spread apart the 2 thermistor wires.
-
Insert the holding screw in between the 2 wires.
-
Screw it in until it holds the wires and cartridges in place.
-
-
-
Slide the side fan on the DDX mount groove.
-
Tighten the button head screw.
-
Level the DDX up or down.
-
Keep the bottom of the fan shroud 2mm above the nozzles's tip.
-
-
-
Tighten the holding screws.
-
Check if the DDX is stable.
-
-
-
Check the cables are flowing through the grooves.
-
Check if the cables are not smashed between the housing and the carriage.
-
-
-
Reposition the front fan against the DDX.
-
Tighten the screws.
-
Congratulations!!!
