Introduction

This guide is provided to assist you installing PuTTY in your Windows computer.


Scope of Application

Applies to the following Apps:

  • Ultimaker 3 DDG Updater
  • Ultimaker 3 QR Updater

Applies to the following Operative System:

  • Windows

Applies to the following Bondtech products:

  • DDG Extruder
  • QR Extruder

Applies to the following 3D printer:

  • Ultimaker 3


NOTE: Do not attempt to perform this procedure using any other Operative System.


Scope of Intervention

PuTTY is a free and open-source terminal emulator, serial console and network file transfer

application. It supports several network protocols, including SCP, SSH, Telnet, rlogin, and

raw socket connection. It can also connect to a serial port.

This software is required to be installed in your computer so our automatic Firmware

updater apps can connect to the Ultimaker 3 and perform the update.

  1. Goto https://www.putty.org/
    • Goto https://www.putty.org/

    • Click the download link ”You can download PuTTY here”

    • In the package files group, click the link for the version that best suits your Windows System:

    • • 32-bit putty-0.70-installer.msi

    • • 64-bit putty-64bit-0.70-installer.msi

    • Save the file in your computer

    • Run the file after finishing download.

    • Click Next

  2. Accept or adjust the installation folder

  3. Click Install to proceed

  4. A warning message will ask for an authorization for the installation application to make changes in your computer.

    • Click Yes so the installation can proceed.

  5. After finishing installation PuTTY will show you the final screen.

    • Check the tick box if you want to view the README file...

    • ...or keep it unchecked if you don't need to view it.

    • Click Finish to close the dialog window.
