This Guide relates to this Direct Drive System for Creality CR-10S Upgrade Kit:

https://www.bondtech.se/en/product/bondt...

Bondtech modified Marlin 1.1.9 firmware

To properly use the Bondtech Direct Drive for CR-10s one needs to update the firmware with our version. There are several reasons why we recommend our version, and the main one is the use of E3D's V6 Hot-End. This Hot-End is using a different kind of thermistor from the original one and will not show the right temperature on your display otherwise.

Another reason why we highly recommend you to change to Marlin 1.1.9 is because it enables Thermal Runaway Protection.

Other Bondtech specific changes

  • E-Step value set to 415.
  • Acceleration set to 500.
  • Load/Unload Filament tweaks.
  • Printer name set to "Bondtech CR-10s".

This article talks about the V6 thermister “this Hot-End is using a different kind of thermistor”. Which one has this firmware been coded for?

Peter Von Busch - Reply

The DDS system is utilizing a E3D V6 HotEnd and and this firmware is coded for the V6 thermistor.

Im not using filament run out sensor, so i will use an own configured firmware. What do i have to change in marlin 1.1.9 to make it compitable with this direct drive?

Lukas Klit - Reply

You will have to change the TEMP_SENSOR_0 to 5 in order to show the correct temperature since we are using E3Ds V6 thermistor and change the ESTEP to 415. We also do some tweaks to acceleration, jerk, filament load/unloading etc.

You can check out the source code here: https://github.com/BondtechAB/Bondtech-C...

Hi, thanks for adding the BLTouch to the firmware. I just flashed my CR10s S4 and there are no Bltouch options in the menu. I made sure I used the right firmware. Can you verify it’s Bltouch ready or is there something I’m not doing right?

Thank you!
