This is a Firmware Update Guide only. Use the Hardware Installation Guide to start the BMG-HT for Funmat HT setup.

    • Stepper motor must run below 1A. We recommended to set current to 0.7A.

    • Different Funmat-HT versions come from factory with different stepper driver setups. Be sure your machine is running the extruder stepper motor at 0.7A by checking the driver DIP switches configuration.

    • Checking the current in the User Interface as shown above may not be enough.

    • In case you don’t know how to perform this check, please contact our Customer Support. Thank you.

These instructions do do work for the FunMat HT Enhanced, will this extruder not work with the newer FunMat HT?

Paul Butcher - Reply

Hi Paul,

sorry to have taken so long to reply.

The BMG-HT is compatible with newer Funmat-HT versions but some additional details have to be taken care. The most important regarding the max current settings. These settings have to be addressed by changing the DIP switches configuration on the extruder stepper motor driver.

The right settings are

SW1 ON,

SW2 OFF,

SW3 ON

This will set the PEAK current to 0.7A as intended.

The stepper motor driver can be found below the lid on the bottom of the spool compartment.
