Notice

This is a Firmware Update Guide only. Use the Hardware Installation Guide to start the BMG-HT for Funmat HT setup.

    • Stepper motor must run below 1A. We recommended to set current to 0.7A.

    • Different Funmat-HT versions come from factory with different stepper driver setups. Be sure your machine is running the extruder stepper motor at 0.7A by checking the driver DIP switches configuration.

    • Checking the current in the User Interface as shown above may not be enough.

    • In case you don’t know how to perform this check, please contact our Customer Support. Thank you.

  1. Use the touch display interface to setup the Extruder Current Press "Settings"

    • Press "Other Param"

  2. Press the Scroll Down Button until the option"Motion Settings" is selected. Press the Check button to enter the option.
    • Press the Scroll Down Button until the option"Motion Settings" is selected.

    • Press the Check button to enter the option.

  3. Click the Scroll Down button until the option "Current E" is selected.
    • Click the Scroll Down button until the option "Current E" is selected.

    • Default Extruder Current is 800 mA.

    • Press the Check button to change the Current E value

  4. Press the Minus button until you reach the 700 mA.
    • Press the Minus button until you reach the 700 mA.

    • Press the < (Back) button after the 700 mA value is reached.

  5. Create a new Text Document Edit it with NotePad Insert the following G-code command:
    • Create a new Text Document

    • Edit it with NotePad

    • Insert the following G-code command:

    • M92 E415; set e-steps value

    • Insert the following G-code command:

    • M500; save settings

    • The original, and older Funmat HT models use 8 bit microstepping.

    • If you are experiencing over extrusion when using 415 as e-steps value, most probably that is the case.

    • In this case 207 will be the right e-steps value.

  6. Name it SetEsteps415.gcode You can use any other name but the extension must be gcode
    • Name it SetEsteps415.gcode

    • Set the type to All Files

    • Set the encoding to ANSI

    • Click Save to store the file

    • Checking the properties of the file, the name must end with gcode.

    • If the name in the properties dialog box ends in .txt, create a new file and follow this instructions to properly name it.

  7. To change the e-steps value in the firmware we will &quot;print&quot; a specific g-code file.
    • To change the e-steps value in the firmware we will "print" a specific g-code file.

    • Press the Print button to access the list of files in the SD-Card.

  8. Press the Down Arrow button...
    • Press the Down Arrow button...

    • ... until the SetEsteps415 file is selected

    • Click the Check button to run the Gcode

    • Congratulations!!! Your Firmware Update is completed.
