How to solve the E1 Heating Failed error on a DDS for CR-10S?

Hello,

I received a DDS for CR-10S and have installed the kit however I'm having an

issue. On attempt to heat I am given the error E1 Heating Failed and it

prompts me to restart the machine. All steps were followed as per the video

tutorials. I am also not getting a temperature reading from the hotend at

idle.

Please advise how to remedy this issue.

Hi,

Most likely the connector for the thermistor has moved during transport so one of the wires is not connected.

If you look on the rear of the extruder housing there is a black connector for the thermistor. Make sure the thermistor is fully connected, that the crimps have not moved out of the housing.

All units are tested and before packaging, as we connect each DDS to a controller to verify that they all work. We even extrude material to make 100% sure everything works as expected.

Let me know how it works out for you.

Hey,  I followed your suggestion and it was spot on. The connection behind the mount was loose. I plugged it in and it heated as normally and displayed ambient temperature correctly. Thank you so much for the response!
