Raise3d bondtech upgrade motor very hot at recommended viltage

I installed my bondtech extruder on my n2 plus dual.

I was having great success with it and now it seems the motors are getting very hot. The problem I am having is That i’m printing TPU and this causes havok with gripping and pushing.

I set the voltage as discussed in the installation guide but that hasnt addressed the issue. I also have fans mounted on the motor as a stop gap but they cannot cool the motors enough.

Please advise

Hi, the Vref settings on the stepperdrivers controls the current sent to the motor, using a Vref value of 0.5 Volts has proven to give good results. If you notice no change are you sure that you were adjusting the top 2 stepper drivers that is for the extruder. The bottom 3 is for XYZ.

I was only using the front extruder motor. But Yes I witnessed no drop in temperature at that setting. I was adjusting the top driver

Hi, the top driver is for the right extruder, the second from the top is the left extruder so you need to adjust the second from the top.
